FoxyTunes Planet - private beta is here
As you all know, FoxyTunes is a universal music browser add-on that supports more than 30 great media players and music services - iTunes, Winamp, Pandora, Rhapsody and Amarok are only a few examples and the list is always growing.
With FoxyTunes, you can have the same music experience no matter which music player you’re using. FoxyTunes gives you the freedom to use your favorite players from within your favorite browser and does all the integration work behinds the scenes.
We took the same principles of integration and universality to a completely new level by creating a new Web site - we’re calling it the “FoxyTunes Planet”.
FoxyTunes Planet is a Universal Music Mashup. The Planet, along with the FoxyTunes browser add-on connects between your favorite media players and great music sites and services.
Today we are launching the Planet in an invitation-based private beta. It’s not public yet for two reasons - first, we want to make sure that the new site can handle the load of all the FoxyTunes users. Also, we want to get your feedback and make additional improvements before publicly launching the new site.
Currently, we are inviting a limited number of FoxyTunes users to the private beta. If you’d like to join the private beta and help us shape the next generation of FoxyTunes - sign up here.
Much more to come soon - stay tuned! ![]()

Why haven’t you added the ZUNE player to the list of players? It plays under the universal player, but doesn’t include the name of the song, etc…

Quite frankly my dear, it is an absolute bottler. Would not do without it. With over six thousand tracks and growing. A couple of clicks and I have access to every one of them. The ‘Planet’ sounds like an excellent addition. Looking forward to Checking it out. Sounds somewhat similar to Go! and Bigpond! in Vista?

It’s a great little program. I use it to control my Xbox Media Center. Since my laptop is wireless & my xbox is connected to my sound system (in which I have speakers in each room) I can change the music on the fly. I can even run a movie when ever I want on my TV with the click of the mouse. It’s utterly fantastic. Thanks foxytunes.

I can’t believe there’s no direct support for the Zune player yet. It’s the biggest competition for the iPod!
March 4th, 2007 at 3:36 pm
@Moe - Unlike iTunes, the Zune player currently has no API that will allow programs such as FoxyTunes to communicate with it. I promise you that once this becomes possible, we will do our best to support Zune.

Convergence is talk of the day. The recent launches of universal remotes from Sony and other companies clearly shows this trend. Foxytunes always has been my favourite plugin to control my media player. Now it is extending its arms more

FoxyTunes is already amazing; it also turns out it is a very powerful tool for updating, correcting and finding artwork for a music library. It would be fantastic if it ccould automatically make these corrections. Is it possible?
